Strapi related FAQs

Answers to all the questions you have for us

Does moving from Strapi to Webflow affect our existing front-end code?

If you are moving to Webflow's native visual builder (which is the standard Flowtrix approach), the existing front-end codebase — React, Vue, Next.js, or custom HTML — is retired and replaced by the Webflow-built site. If you want to keep a custom front-end and use Webflow purely as a visual CMS, Flowtrix can implement Webflow in headless mode using the Webflow Data API to feed your existing front-end. The right approach depends on your team's technical capacity and long-term content management strategy.

How does Flowtrix migrate Strapi content to Webflow?

Strapi content is exported via Strapi's REST API, cleaned and restructured to match the target Webflow CMS schema, and imported via Webflow's CMS API. Media files are re-hosted on Webflow's CDN. Component-based Strapi content types (e.g., dynamic zone blocks) are mapped to equivalent Webflow CMS multi-reference fields or Rich Text content, depending on the rendering requirement. Flowtrix documents the content model mapping before migration begins so there are no ambiguities in the import.

What are the advantages of Webflow over Strapi for a marketing site?

Strapi is a powerful self-hosted headless CMS built for developer-defined content models, but it requires Node.js server infrastructure, a custom front-end framework, and developer involvement for all design changes. Webflow replaces this entire stack with a single managed platform — hosting, CMS, visual editor, and front-end builder are all included. For B2B marketing sites where marketing velocity and design quality matter more than deep data modelling, Webflow delivers faster results with significantly lower operational overhead.
