What is Quality Assurance (QA)?
Quality Assurance (QA) is the systematic testing and validation process to ensure that a product, website, or software meets quality standards, functions as intended, and is free of bugs, errors, and security vulnerabilities before release.
For B2B SaaS companies, inadequate QA can result in lost customers, security breaches, and reputational damage.
- Regression Testing: Each time a development team releases a new feature, QA must test the entire system to ensure the new feature doesn't break existing functionality. This is called regression testing.
- Cross-Browser Testing: A website might work perfectly in Chrome on Mac but break in Firefox on Windows. QA teams test across browsers and devices to ensure consistency.
- Performance Testing: QA teams load-test websites to ensure they remain stable under high traffic, preventing crashes during marketing campaigns or product launches.
- Security Testing: QA teams conduct penetration testing and vulnerability scanning to identify security flaws before hackers exploit them.
