Tooltip

What is Tooltip?

Tooltips are a form of Microinteraction used to provide brief, helpful information without cluttering the main User Interface (UI). They are common on icons, abbreviated terms, or forms where extra clarity is needed.

Why Tooltips Matter in UX?

Tooltips improve User Experience (UX) by providing just-in-time assistance, reducing confusion without overwhelming the user.

  • Clarity: They help explain complex or unfamiliar interface elements without sacrificing Visual Hierarchy.
  • Friction Reduction: They prevent users from having to guess what an icon means, which is key for a smooth User Flow in complex SaaS interfaces.
  • Accessibility: Proper implementation ensures all users can access the supplemental information.

Example from Flowtrix Projects

Flowtrix utilizes Tooltips strategically in our UI/UX Design to clarify complex terms and minimize friction in Lead Forms. We implement them using lightweight Interaction Design in Webflow, ensuring they adhere to Website Accessibility standards and provide a frictionless User Flow for the target User Persona.
